Sovereign's Seal. Sovereign's Seal is the crown's guarantee, made flesh in wax and signet. Any document bearing the sovereign's seal — treaty, edict, warrant, pardon — is treated, by custom and by law, as if the sovereign had spoken the words aloud in person, in the full court, on a holy day. The seal carries the weight of the throne behind it. Recipients do not question. Governors do not delay. Captains do not hesitate. The sovereign has used the seal to end a border war with a single letter, to pardon a wrongly condemned scholar from three provinces away, to redirect a grain shipment that saved a city from famine. The seal cannot be forged — the wax knows its true master, and crumbles at any other hand. The sovereign keeps the signet ring on their finger, always, and sleeps with it still on.
