Unmarked
Unmarked. Unmarked is the wanderer's invisibility to fate. Prophecy cannot find them. Divination slides off them like rain off oilcloth. An oath-spell sworn to track them by name finds no purchase. The wanderer has walked through the working of oracles who were trying to locate them, and felt nothing — not a tug, not a whisper, not the faintest pull of being seen. The gift has a price. It also hides them from the people who love them, if those people are not already looking. A friend searching the road for the wanderer will not find them unless they already know, somehow, where to look. The wanderer has learned to leave messages in agreed-upon places, because the alternative is to be unfindable by everyone, and that is a loneliness they have decided they cannot carry.
